Blogger Local Kansas City

“At the top of our list is Oldham Auctions LLC. This company has earned a name for quality and greatness in the Kansas City area. They handle all manner of auctions including, farm equipment, estate sales, personal property, antiques, collectibles, land, real estate, and business liquidation.

They also perform online auctions which makes it easy and convenient for sellers to liquidate their assets in a flash. It starts with a free consultation followed by a contract, advertising, and ultimately selling off all items. They’re number one for a reason, experience it yourself.”

Rick Cottrell, Caretaker Colonel – Wentworth Military Academy

“Upon Wentworth Military Academy and College closing May 2017 it was directed that all assets had to be sold. I accepted the position of the Wentworth Caretaker to oversee the closing and sale of assets. We got several quotes from auction companies. We selected Oldham Auctions. Over the course of a year Oldham Auctions oversaw 1 on-site live auction and 8 online auctions. Some other items appear in other auctions conducted by Oldham Auctions.

I would like to give Brody and his team my highest recommendation. Brody and his auction team are highly professional, honest, patient, trustworthy, and a team that will deal with your personal items as if they were their own. This team did everything they could to make this process as easy as possible. There is a commercial out there that is something like “technicians you can trust with your house keys”. This auction team is a team you can trust with not only your house keys but also the most treasured items you own.

I would like to thank Brody Oldham and his team. They had a monumental task ahead of them when accepting this job. They surpassed my highest expectation. Thank you to the entire team. Job well done.”

Robert Hagedorn – Congressman Ike Skelton Chief of Staff

“Thanks for the great job you and your team did on the late Congressman Ike Skelton estate auction. Your team did a super job of organizing and promoting the large quantity of items to be sold. Your flexibility in working out the venue for the large sale at the Wentworth field house was important to the success of the sale. Incorporating internet participation with the live auction certainly enhanced the value achieved for some of the more interesting items. All in all, a job well done.”

“My experience working with Oldham Auctions was very positive, we contacted Brody after a death in the family. From the start Oldham’s was professional and helpful, giving insight the process of an estate sale and honest advice about what we should expect. I opted for an online-auction which went extremely well as it provided convenience for both me and potential buyers. The pricing structure is clear (everything is in writing) and the preview/pick-up days are well organized. The two best parts of Oldham’s was Brody, who was easily contactable any time to answer questions that came up, and the workers who sort, photograph, and categorized the sale items. These workers who did our sale were incredibly knowledgeable about antiques and a real joy to work with, all around good trustworthy people.”

“Oldham Auctions handled my on-line auction. The experience could not have been better. I think the entire group was highly organized, did exactly what they said they would do and were very professional. They totally took care of everything. I also was so pleasantly surprised that my things sold for far more than at a traditional auction. I do think that on-line is the way to go and Oldham Auctions is the service to use!”

“Selling our personal property with Oldham Auctions was easy. All staff members were helpful and courteous. We told them the items we did not want sold and they did the rest. Even though we were still living in our home, they came in identified, photographed, and tagged each item without invading our privacy. The day of the viewing, we were assured that nothing would be soiled or damaged. The day of the pick up after the sale, everything was removed by Oldham Auction staff. We received our check with a complete explanation of all items sold very shortly after the sale was over.”

“After our father unexpectedly passed away, we had Oldham help us with selling his personal things and his sheet metal shop. I very much appreciated that they were a family owed company, this made them very friendly to work with. Brody was very sensitive to the loss of our father and to our family’s request. Brody used his resources to contact many businesses who would be interested in what was being sold. This really made us feel that we were getting the most value of all the equipment. I would recommend Oldham not only for their professionalism but also for the friendly personal interaction.”

“When my husband of 33 years died suddenly 2 months ago, I found myself alone in the country left with a 2 car garage full of tools, projects, car parts and machines I knew nothing about. I also was left with a 40 x 60 barn full of more tools, projects, parts, tractors, machinery, scrap metal, “toys” and items intended to be discarded over the years. In addition to those items were a camper, boat and trailer, 3 more trailers, a truck needing a transmission, a truck with a plow, and a non-working car. Needless to say being overwhelmed was an understatement. Friends and neighbors suggested I contact Oldham Auctions to see what they could do for me. I had Brody come out and walk around to see what I had, and he assured me that an on-site auction was more than “do-able”. I was a wreck over worrying about all of what was left behind. He was so patient and reassuring that they could handle what we had, and for me to try not to be too stressed about it. He explained the process and we set a date. He took pictures of things and began the advertising process. I remained skeptical. The week of the auction he sent 2 amazing individuals out to start sorting through everything and setting things up. The amount of work they accomplished in one 8 hour day was so encouraging. They were there 3 days going through layers and layers of parts and pieces. The day I came home to a completely empty garage (for the first time in 20 years) made a believer out of me! I cried and cried to think this could actually happen. When I got home the Friday before the auction, my back yard, side yard and front yard were completely full of 30 years of my husband’s accumulation and the barn was almost empty! I could not believe his crew did that much work in 3 days! I chose not to be at home during the actual auction, I would have worried myself sick about what sold and what didn’t. When I returned after everything was over, there was literally nothing left! That was beyond my wildest expectation! Brody sold things I never thought would be sold. The whole operation was handled respectfully and professionally; and there was virtually no clean up for me to do! The man and his crew are amazing. I am still in shock over the whole process because I thought I would have lots to still figure out how to dispose of. I am no longer weighed down and can now focus on moving ahead. I would recommend Oldham Auctions to anyone in need of this service. They came through for me in every way and took care of my auction like they were helping a family member. I cannot thank Brody and Oldham Auctions enough!”

“Auctioning the contents of my home of 50 years on-line with Oldham Auctions turned out to be a very good decision. Your service was smooth and trouble-free. Each phase of the process was exactly as described to me in advance. The women who sorted and cataloged all of the items to be auctioned were efficient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. The items were represented well with good photographs and descriptions. It appeared to me that it was easy for bidders to see the quality of the contents of my home and to make choices for the items they wanted to bid on. I believe that it was a great advantage to present my furniture, antiques, tools, and guns to your established clientele and the process resulted in net earnings to me that was greater than any other way I could have chosen to sell such an accumulation of possessions. Both the viewing day and pick up day went well and as expected. The Oldham Auction check was presented by the date it was promised. Your service was excellent from the beginning to the end and I was very pleased with all of it.”

“Around the middle of December we decided to see if our house would sell — well it sold in one day. Since we were downsizing, we needed to sell a whole lot of stuff in a short amount of time. We were familiar with Oldham Online Auctions since we had purchased items from them both online and at their live auctions. We were so pleased that Brody was able to come out to our home and evaluate the items we had. He explained their process and we signed a contract with him that day. The process started immediately and everything from the cataloging and photographing of our items to the online listing to the bidding and the pickup when amazingly smoothly. Everyone was so professional and we couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. His sales are watched by folks from all over the country, so there were lots of bidders. We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend this company when you decided to sell.”

“You were so accurate in the estimate you gave me when we contracted to conduct our sale with you that it frankly shocked me. The care and compassion your team showed us as we sorted, organized and let go of 45 years of mutual collecting exceeded our expectations. They are great people who represent your organization with real integrity, enthusiasm and kindness. We must confess to getting bit by the auction bug a little, who knows we may do it again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the services, advice and transparent accounting of our transactions.”

“It was a joy for my family to work with Oldham Auctions. My grandparents sold their farm after 30 years. After interviewing several companies we decided Oldham was the best fit. Brody was vey upfront with us on what to expect. The staff sent to help get everything staged was amazing. They worked very hard. The day of the sale everything went smooth. We really enjoyed working with this family business. It really gave my grandparents a sense of closure to have a nice auction. Thank you Brody.”

Sherry Hammond, Independence, MO

“Brody and crew made letting go of my parent’s lifetime of belongs and collections so much easier than I anticipated. It is hard enough to deal with the death of our parents but these people were organized and had this entire auction down to the last item and customer. Not only did they understand but so did their customers. Can’t ask for a better company. My dad suggested them to handle his estate before he passed because he heard of of their honesty. Thanks Brody, Nancy, Kim, Stephanie and Shea.”
